Building Legacies: Mentorship, Sports, and Creating Lasting Moments
I had the privilege to photograph Tracy Hedrick, CMO and Senior Associate Athletics Director for The Ohio State University Department of Athletics and Business Advancement. She shared some of her story.
“I have always been in the memory-making business. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the entertainment and sports industry. Each day, I have the privilege of promoting concerts, special events, and sports alongside my amazing and elite teammates. It brings me great joy to know that people love coming to where I work. Often, it's their first concert with a group of friends, or a teenager may be attending a sporting event with a grandparent. During concerts, I've seen people get engaged, take marriage vows, and even drive their tractors to the shows.
I enjoy mentoring students and working professionals to help them chart their career paths. I believe it's essential for students and professionals to communicate their goals and dreams with academic advisors or mentors. This way, others can offer the right support and guidance. If you don’t have a mentor, I suggest leveraging your LinkedIn community to connect with a trusted professional who can guide you.
I believe that everyone should have a current professional headshot. I connected with Alissa through networking. I have always been impressed with her photography. Since I was traveling to New York City, I made it a priority to schedule an appointment. I was thrilled with her hair and makeup artist, Lisa, who put so much detail into her work. I enjoyed the attention to detail but did not feel overproduced. Both she and Alissa made my experience a memorable one.”
