I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Nathalie Bass earlier this year. Nathalie, thank you for the honor and for sharing your story with me. 

I asked Nathalie what shaped her success today. The oldest of two, Nathalie immigrated to the US from Madagascar with her mom as a young girl. Seeing her mom start over and succeed in a new country helped motivate Nathalie’s success — and gave her a unique perspective.

Now Nathalie brings this unique perspective to create a space where people of diverse backgrounds can thrive, specializing in emotional intelligence and coaching people to improve their performance at work.  

At the end of the day, Nathalie believes the key to emotional intelligence is to remember we are all people with stories. If you really listen and bring your personal experiences to support one another personally and professionally, it will benefit the whole organization.
