I recently had the incredible opportunity to photograph Rachael Jones. During our shoot, I asked her about a transformative moment in her life. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica, Rachael shared this beautiful childhood memory with me:

“One morning, when I was about 4 or 5 years old, my grandpa found me in the backside of our home where my parents had a vegetable garden. I was intently focused on my mission—digging up as many earthworms and centipedes as I could so that I could examine them under the bright, hot sun. Shocked, my grandpa said ‘Oh, no you've made a huge mess of your mother's garden, you're going to be in big trouble when she finds out. What are you going to do?’ I looked him in the eye, chin raised and with a tiny but unwavering voice said: ‘I'm going to have to bear it.’”

From immigrating to the US to being a first-generation college graduate to her latest adventure – ushering in a new era of value-based care as a founder within Redesign Heath’s family of companies, resilience, purpose, and passion have been the guiding forces in Rachael’s personal and professional life.

“I’m grateful to be on this journey and I know what the future holds,” Rachael said. “I’ll ‘bear it’ just fine.”
