Solving People’s Puzzles with Childlike Curiosity
I had the privilege to photograph Pamela Verick, CCEP, CFE, global forensic expert. She shared some of her journey.
“My first word as a child was ‘why?’ which is still one of my favorite questions! So, it’s no surprise that my professional calling turned out to be helping organizations combat the ‘who, what, where, when and how’ fraud happens and safeguard their reputation, business relationships, and bottom line. Truly, my childhood curiosity and love of puzzles has been empowered by mavens who directed my passion -- and still mentor me -- in the dynamic field of financial forensics.
My work has taken me across the globe and I’m continually inspired by individuals’ commitment to finding their voice and doing the right thing in the face of adversity. I’ve learned that courage and confidence are rooted in one’s self-worth. When you are secure in your relationship with yourself, you can have fiercely brave moments and better withstand the turbulence of the world around you. I think that lesson applies personally and professionally.
This past summer, I was reminded through a series of serendipitous discussions that when you do what you love your path is set and the rest will follow. Practice patience, focus forward, and avoid the pressure to pretzel yourself. My joy comes from helping others solve their own puzzles and I wanted that to radiate in a new headshot.
Funnily enough, it was through one of those impromptu afternoon gatherings that I found Alissa to be the person behind the camera on the headshots that I admired on LinkedIn. I saw which headshots were hers. You see peoples’ aura, it’s their authentic self that comes through and is captured by her lens!
The session is as therapeutic as it is picture taking!
So, positive.
So, uplifting.
So, reaffirming.
Alissa added to it her warmth and her energy took over her studio.
We talked about the photo shoot, the headshots, and what’s next.
What’s exciting?
That's how she brings out your best, your hopes and dreams, thoughts and fierceness.
My headshot session was fun, fearless and inspiring. It was a perfect time.”
