Balancing Act: Lisa Chenofsky Singer's Journey of Motherhood and Professional Fulfillment

“The event that really transformed my life was becoming a working mom.”

I asked Lisa Chenofsky Singer, MA, PCC, CMP to share her journey on starting her coaching business, and this is what she said:

“I started my career in social work before moving into HR. I was in corporate HR when I had my son. I remember being at O’Hare Airport and just missing my flight. It was 28 years ago, the breast pump machine I was carrying was so heavy and now I couldn’t get home in time to even use what I had pumped. I felt like I was missing out on the first few months of his life.”

“This totally changed how I saw my life. I called my boss and gave 1 month's notice - I quit! Then I called my husband to let him know. I wanted more time to figure out being a mom. I realized I didn’t quite fit in with the stay-at-home-moms, yet I also didn’t fit with the other extreme of working moms that worked so much that I missed big (and little) moments.”

“So I started freelancing in HR before getting my coaching certification in 2009. I wanted to focus on actually developing people, not just corporate HR. I always believed in developing people and helping them see their potential. I’ve had my own coaching business for 20+ years now. IT is the best decision of my life besides marrying my incredible husband and having my two kids.”

“I have now been in my own business for 20+ years. My motto is ‘love your career, live your talent & treasure your life successes™.’ It’s what I’ve always stood for no matter what I do. I view executive, leadership, team and career coaching as a journey – how you continue developing yourself, your leadership style, your team, and I help you and your teams see and reach their potential.”

“Honestly, it’s similar to what Alissa does with her headshots. Alissa helps individuals see the energy and beauty in themselves. As a Coach, I am your thinking partner in helping you see things with a new lens. Working with Alissa allowed me to see myself through a different lens. And it was also a fun afternoon!”

Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your journey with us.
